Our primary concern is looking after your boat, so we offer a complete care service which we run alongside our partner companies to deal with all aspects of yacht care. We specialise in offering a monthly package to keep on top of maintenance, as well as a complete winter layup and spring commissioning program.
Monthly program
We specialise in preventative maintenance to make sure that your boat is ready to use at any time, but more importantly so that you don’t have any unexpected repair bills throughout the year.
Winterisation
The most important point in winterising a boat is to make sure the engine won’t suffer from frost damage, but there is also a process to go through with the whole boat if you are to make sure no damage is incurred through the colder winter months:
Main Engine and fuel tanks
To minimise damage to engines over the winter it is important to winterise or at least service them. The reason for this is the used engine oil turns acidic, so damaging the internal parts of the engine. Also, salt water in the cooling system will promote premature corrosion.
Some of our customers like to use their boat over the winter so we provide a major service option which is recommended to be carried out before the winter season.
We can also go through a similar process for any outboard or generator.
Fuel Tanks
Importantly fuel tanks should be topped up to prevent condensation and an algae inhibitor added to prevent condensation developing and water getting into the fuel and promoting diesel bug.
We can also winterise the following aspects of your boat:
Plumbing System
Drain down toilets.
Pump out fresh water tank(s), drain down systems (where possible).
Refill fresh water tank(s) and check systems on commissioning.
Check and lubricate sea-cocks (Not if they are nylon sealed)
Gas System
Disconnect the bottle, and check system over.
Batteries
Remove and trickle charge
Tubular heater and dehumidifier
Placed on boat and check on a regular basis, even if the boat isn’t being winterised it is a good idea to do this.
Safety Equipment and dinghy
Remove, service and replace.
Covers
We can supply and fit a cover to go over the entire deck so as to protect the boat from the dreaded starlings! It will also protect from general UV damage.
Antifouling
We can Antifoul your boat to get it ready for the next season, at the same time we can also clean the propeller(s) and replace anodes.
